Dennis Leick aka dreadmaul, is a musician and DJ living in Mainz, Germany. His songs tell stories about shamanic cults, raw forces and lost myths. These tribal and dark atmospheric sounds got featured on labels like Paradise Lost, re:st, Voidance, alphacut, Defrostatica, LOSSLESS, Unbidden Audio, Conspired Within, Ronin Ordinance, DIN is Noise, Tech Cycle and many others. dreadmaul is active in Germanys dnb scene since over 15 years now, including gigs all over the country. He has played shows at the Membrain festival in Croatia, as well as multiple times at the Tieffrequenz festivals in Germany. He is getting support and plays from many big names from the scene, like Loxy, Double 0, Om Unit, Mantra, Shiken Hanzo, Antagonist, Acid_Lab, Soul Intent and many others.
In 2023 dreadmaul started a new endeavor, which was planned and developed for years: a live performance without a computer. Utilizing his modular system, synthesizers, live looping of flutes, frame drums and rattles, as well as heavy use of improvisation he transcends the recipes of common drum and bass and delves into a spiritual, almost hypnotic ritual ceremony. These special, constantly evolving performances have already taken place in cities such as London, Copenhagen or Berlin.
